Development Associate
Vanguard Renewables seeks a Development Associate to support development finance and project management initiatives. The Development Associate will be engaged in tasks ranging from financial analysis on potential and existing development projects to construction and permitting support, along with administrative requirements of the team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Team member responsible for updating and maintaining project databases.
- Manage due diligence and feasibility tasks with third party consultants for new projects.
- Support Development Manager(s) with other permitting, zoning and engineering related development tasks.
- Support Development Manager(s) with accounting related matters, including preparing or assisting with purchase orders, approval of invoices and the development of projected financial summaries.
- Maintain project budgets and schedules and report on variances.
- Prepare reports for senior management on development progress and critical decision points.
- Support senior management with equity partner(s) by providing project information and related reports or presentations as requested.
- Attend internal and external meetings and summarize critical issues and action items.
- Support the development team on current initiatives and new business development
- Other duties as required, including frequent travel.
- Consistent and on-time attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree required
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related field
- Comprehensive understanding of real estate development deal structure and lifecycle
- Frequent travel as required (up to 40%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to manage financial models
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Commercial real estate underwriting, permitting and project management experience preferred

Development Manager

We are headquartered in MA, funded by institutional capital partners, and currently, have 20+ projects operating and in development in over 13 states. We have a plan to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.
Vanguard Renewables seeks a Development Manager to be a leader in several states or metropolitan areas executing projects from siting through to construction completion.
Responsibilities
- Manage development of assigned projects and related functions and activities, including but not limited to:
- Overseeing of initial due diligence and feasibility tasks performed by the Development Associate(s)
- Managing permitting and zoning with hired consultants and local and state regulatory bodies
- Negotiating of contracts with clients and vendors
- Interdepartmental coordination of engineering, design and construction related needs for the projects
- Maintaining consistent communication with multiple clients and vendors
- Support, mentor and manage assigned Development Associate(s).
- Ensure project activities comply and are consistent with company and contract requirements.
- Represent company, project and/or department during investor, client and project management meetings.
- Coordinate with financial analyst team to provide project information to develop accurate financial models for each project.
- Interface with all company departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of projects, and maintain project schedule.
- Other duties as may be required, and frequent travel is required
- Consistent and on-time attendance.

Skills and Qualifications
- Has supported in the development of RNG projects in the past
- Has experience in managing multiple projects at a time
- Has experience in environmental permitting requirements
- BA/BS degree required
- 5-10 years’ experience
- Ability to travel 50% or more of the time.
- Has experience in negotiating feedstock or gas offtake agreements is a plus
- Can support in the logistics of getting agreements signed and through the finish line
- Has experience in creating/overseeing lifecycle assessment models for projects to analyze feasibility of the project
- Can manage and coordinate project budgets and schedules and can create weekly progress reports on each project.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Self motivated
- Strong experience in design, engineering, permitting, financial analysis and project management preferred
