The Owners’ Representative is responsible for monitoring the project site to ensure that  projects are completed safely, to high quality, within budget and on time. This role will collaborate with an assigned Project Manager as well as other stakeholders including contractors, regulators, farms and Vanguard internal departments including development, engineering and procurement to ensure performance meets standards and to monitor and report project progress.  

Responsibilities 

• Must be willing to relocate for 10-15 months at a time to be on project site and ensure successful project completion. 
• Responsible for representing Vanguard’s best interests and execute the project goals and objectives.  
• Make sure the contractors for the project execute the work safely, within quality  on schedule and within the approved budget. 
• Anticipate risks and keep the project running smoothly – communicate to all parties to ensure that all  project team members are engaged at the right time and are meeting their contractual deliverables. 
• Serve as the liaison between farms, feedstock suppliers, engineers, contractors, testing agencies, utility providers, and third-party vendors. 
• Lead accountability and assurance that all project team members are working towards the company’s goals and objectives.  
• Act as Vanguard’s eyes and ears on the project site. Be present and accountable on the project site daily. 
• Establish clear lines of communication and ensure all team members are working towards achieving the project goals and objectives. 
• Recognize where inherent risks exist and appropriately manage and mitigate these risks. 
• Provide on site  management of contractors and oversight throughout all phases of a project including but not limited to: 
  • Budget and schedule management 
  • Project communication 
• Risk management and mitigation 
• Quality management and contract enforcement 
• Requests for proposals and bids 

Skills and Qualifications 

• Work from the project site. Willing to relocate to a project site for 10-15 months at a time. Working hours at site will be normal construction schedules

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and cost of Organics projects. The project manager allocated to the project will report to the project management office team lead and will have a dotted line reporting structure to the project sponsor for the project. • Support three Organics projects simultaneously.  
• Be responsible for identifying any potential scope creep and managing risk. 
• Continuously maintain and update the risk register for development, engineering, and construction management.  
• Analyze the trends and identify focus areas or improvement ideas and collaboratively working with various teams to jointly develop/implement strategies to improve project performance.  
• Conduct scheduled meetings to track the progress and report to the management. 
• Conduct weekly meetings and tracking progress on safety, procurement, engineering, construction, contract management, project accounting, schedule, cost and quality.  
• Be responsible for budget control during construction, will manage the change order control process, and will seek approvals from the project sponsor for any non-budgeted or unexpected expenses.  
• Compile the project progress update reports and submit them to the project sponsor.

The Senior HSE Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining full compliance with Corporate HSE Standards at all company-owned and/or operated assets nationwide. This position provides strategic direction to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards at all stages of the asset lifecycle. Leads and develops team of HSE professionals in a geographically spread operation. Must be able to interact with a broad range of stakeholders including clients, JV partners, executives, high-level managers, and frontline personnel. Must have expert knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards including 29 CFR 1904, 1910, 1926 and OSHA PSM. Ability to provide technical guidance and develop talent/competencies of frontline personnel is critical. 

Responsibilities 

• Builds mechanisms to foster a positive and sustainable HSE culture at field/remote sites; coordinates employee engagement and participation activities to attain corporate HSE objectives. 
• Provides HSE technical guidance to support all levels of company and third-party contractor workforce; acts as Subject Matter Expert and supports development of Corporate HSE and PSM Standards. 
• Leads or oversees incident response, notification, investigation and reporting; may facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with company and contractor personnel.

The HSE Specialist for Land Transportation is responsible for developing and implementing a corporate transportation safety program and promoting a positive safety culture throughout our organization. This position is critical to Vanguard’s mission to harness the power of waste safely and reliably and will have a unique opportunity to make a long-lasting impact and define the industry standards in North America. While this position will support teams in complying with applicable regulatory requirements, it is not a DOT compliance position. Must have advanced understanding of operational and driver safety risk management. Must be able to interact with a broad range of stakeholders including frontline personnel, high-level managers, JV partners, and regulators. Must be able to manage projects and provide technical guidance to a variety of audiences. 

Responsibilities:

• Ensures safe management and operations for all motorized vehicles, including passenger motor vehicles, heavy equipment, powered industrial trucks (PIT), etc. 
• Develops and implements transportation safety program in accordance with regulations and industry best practices, including but not limited to: transportation safety policies, driver safety training, journey management planning, and truck operation expectations (e.g. load securement, incidental spill response, parking/maneuvering on dairy farm, etc.).

The Engineer (Process) will work closely with the Development, Construction, and Procurement teams during early stage, pre-FID projects to provide due diligence measures and recommendations to bring the project through to commissioning. 

Responsibilities 

• Provide all technical support to the Development team for filing early-stage permits and any other support necessary during the pre-FID stage 
• Support the Procurement and Construction teams through the permitting and cost estimation process during in the pre-FID stage 
• Provide due-diligence measures and recommendations on technology and equipment providers based on the overall lifecycle of the project. Work closely with Analysts in evaluating and optimizing the most efficient IRR for the project while making recommendations 
• Conduct Mass and Energy (M&E) balance during due diligence, pre-FID project stages and update the M&E balance based on various technology packages as the project evolves. Publish the final M&E balance for construction 
• Draft process block flow diagram (BFD) and populate the flowrates, sizing, and capacity of various equipment and measures, including but not limited to mixers, volume of anaerobic digesters, slump volumes, process water, or potable water consumption, biogas production, waste gas, dewatered solids, and required thermal energy 
• Collaborate with the technology providers and agricultural engineers in identifying the lagoon design, volume, and other regulatory restrictions and requirements 
• Define input and output parameters, performance, and conversion efficiencies. Work with the system or technology provider to identify interface, connected utility (electrical power, compressed air, control and internet, discharges, emissions, etc.) 
• Define performance expectations of the systems and equipment. Coordinate with the Procurement team to ensure that the purchase orders include performance expectations of design 
• Use internal drafting team to create the overall project integrated process flow diagram that includes all pumps, blowers, mixers, compressors, instrumentation and controls, valves (actuated and manual), motors, ventilation, pick up points, and system boundaries 
• Integrate the overall site wide process and instrumentation diagram, clearly indicating the controls structure, MCC and motor interferes, detail specifications around all instrumentation, etc. 
• Support Commissioning Engineers during commissioning to optimize the setpoints for plant operations 
• Coordinate with Project Engineers after bid leveling to recommend procurement preference 
• Collect all lessons learned and integrate learnings in to future project designs

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and 5 years of related engineering experience.

The Engineer (Project) will support and work very closely with construction, procurement, and commissioning teams ensuring quality and assurance on all engineering deliverables of projects in construction. 

Responsibilities 

• Coordinate deliverables and review of IFB drawing and technical package for issue to General Contractor/Design Builder.   
• Review technical submittals from all vendors and coordinate review and sign offs from internal stakeholders 
• Analyze any requests for change from the system or technology providers, provide feedback, and communicate to the entire team. 
• Participate in weekly meetings with project team to provide an update on all technology and system packages 
• Standardize Vanguard technical solutions and create templates for use by engineering team 
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests, visit vendor and provider sites to review and report work in progress 
• Work closely with Balance of Plant Engineers and Agricultural Engineers to ensure specifications standards, drawings, and recommendations are communicated effectively to contractors inclusive of  
• Coordinate with the Process and Commissioning Engineers to ensure that the plant control integration meets expectations 
• Collect and organize documentation from all major equipment and technology suppliers such as, but not limited to, operations and maintenance manuals, installation drawings, installation instructions, process documents, and instrumentation diagrams, etc. Maintain proper documentat control during the design, construction, and pre-commissioning stage. Hand over all documentation and warranty documents to the Commissioning Engineers after the dry or cold commissioning 
• Provide technical clarifications or decisions to the construction team and contractors when there is lack of clarity or specifications in documentation 
• Coordinate with the Process Engineer after bid leveling to make a recommendation for procurement

Reporting to the SVP of Sales and Strategy, the National Account Manager: Waste Vertical will be responsible for implementing a vertical strategy for customers in the waste management and recycling industry. Accounts in the waste industry vertical will consist of waste hauling firms, waste brokerages, consultants, environmental service providers and other handlers of waste materials. This role will negotiate contracts, develop partnerships, and maximize feedstock value for VR disposal sites.  

Responsibilities 

• Acquire national clients with specific goals in mind to support business growth 
• Drive revenues by acquiring signed, approved organic waste streams with firms in the waste and recycling industry 
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop vertical strategy 
• Adapt with business needs 
• Maintain high quality records and information in the CRM 
• Work with and support the Organics Solutions Sales team as needed on various projects 
• Other duties as assigned 

Skills and Qualifications 

• 5+ years working in the waste and recycling industry 
• Adapt quickly to new technologies 
• Be extremely organized 
• Keep thorough records 
• Adeptly manage customer relationships 
• Strong negotiation skills 
• Communicate clearly and have strong interpersonal skills 
• Be flexible, able to adapt and work well in a fast-paced environment 
• Be able to collaborate and align goals of various teams 
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
